Italian Linguist – Remote

Work Location: Remote in Italy/Work from home

DataForce by TransPerfect is seeking a Linguist with idiomatic fluency in Italian to join our team in Italy, working remotely on data curation and evaluation.

Role Summary

As a Linguist, you will curate and evaluate linguistic data, review outputs from speech models, and execute scripts for task automation. You will also be able to provide feedback based on data analysis.

Role Responsibilities

• Curate and evaluate linguistic data with accuracy and attention to detail
• Review and assess outputs generated by speech models
• Execute scripts via command line for task automation or data handling (running, not developing)
• Provide feedback and draw conclusions based on the analyzed data
• Collaborate with the team to continuously improve data quality and task processes

Job requirements

• Applicants must hold a master’s degree or higher in Linguistics.
• Strong understanding of linguistic concepts such as phonetics, syntax, semantics, and morphology
• Strong understanding of phonetic transcription (eg., IPA).
• Experience with phoneme labeling, analyzing audio for phonetic patterns or conducting annotations in TTS/ASR systems is a plus
• Previous experience in similar tasks (data curation, evaluation, or linguistic analysis) is a plus
• Idiomatic fluency in Italian
• Advanced level of English
• Proficiency in French or Spanish is a plus
• Detail-oriented with good analytical and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
