The role
ALS Geochemistry is seeking a Maintenance Carpenter to join our Maintenance team based in Malaga.

This full-time position reports to the Facilities Manager and would suit someone who is hands-on, adaptable, and willing to take on a wide range of general maintenance tasks within a laboratory environment.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working on diverse building projects that go beyond carpentry or construction. Experience or knowledge in additional trades, such as welding, plumbing, tiling, painting, or demolition, will be highly regarded.

Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided to ensure a thorough understanding of routine laboratory equipment maintenance, with a strong emphasis on compliance with ALS Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies.

Strong communication skills are essential, as the successful applicant will regularly liaise with maintenance team members, section supervisors, and Facilities Management to report and resolve equipment issues and minimise downtime.

This is an excellent opportunity to broaden your skillset and gain experience in the maintenance and repair of a wide range of on-site equipment.

  • Ability to read drawings, build small structures, stud walls, hang doors etc. is essential.
  • Current driver's licence (C class) manual.
  • Fabrication experience would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Knowledge and skills in other trades or a desire to learn.
  • Flexibility to travel between sites.
  • Flexibility to do occasional overtime on weekends.
  • The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, while being committed to working as a team.
  • Proven ability to handle a diverse workload.
