About the role

You will help build a modern cloud platform that allows Mews engineering teams to efficiently deliver products to customers by defining a streamlined pathway to production. The platform will incorporate security, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, logging, monitoring, and alerting.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it:
- Build an opinionated cloud platform to enable engineering teams to develop and deploy safely and efficiently without needing extensive knowledge of all cloud services.
- Promote a “you build it, you run it” culture, empowering teams rather than doing everything for them.
- Create and deploy reliable, scalable cloud resources using infrastructure as code.
- Ensure stability and resilience of production systems and support teams in maintaining these standards.
- Develop CI/CD pipelines to facilitate quick and safe software delivery.
- Partner with teams to migrate and modernize existing products onto the new platform.
Ideal candidate profile
Experience with cloud infrastructure and infrastructure as code is essential. Candidates should be proficient in at least two or three technical areas listed below and have some experience with others:
- Cloud infrastructure: Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP, preferably with containerized workloads (not necessarily Kubernetes).
- Infrastructure as code: Familiarity with Terraform, Pulumi, or AWS CDK.
- Observability: Monitoring using logs, metrics, and traces.
- CI/CD: Designing or maintaining deployment pipelines.
- Incident response: Handling production issues and root cause analysis.
- Software development: Experience with C# or other languages like Python or Golang.
- Security: Knowledge of access control and secret management.
- Databases: Querying, optimization, troubleshooting, and migrations.
- Networking and DNS: Solid understanding of networking concepts and configurations.
- Events and messaging: Experience with systems like Azure Service Bus or Kafka.
