Offer Description

Job title : Aid granted to CITIC for the structuring, improvement, and support of research centres within the University System of Galicia, by the Regional Ministry of Education, Science, Universities, and Vocational Training, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under the Galicia ERDF Operational Programme 2021–2027 (Specific Objective 1.1 : To develop and enhance research and innovation capacities and to uptake advanced technologies), with a co-financing rate of 60%. Call 2023 (Order of 24 October 2023, of the Regional Ministry of Culture, Education, Vocational Training and Universities).

Research line / Scientific-technical services : General support services for the management of research, development and innovation (R&D&I).

JOB LOCATION AND SCHEDULE : CITIC, from Monday to Thursday, from 9 : 00 a.m. to 2 : 00 p.m. and from 4 : 00 p.m. to 6 : 30 p.m. Friday, from 9 : 00 a.m. to 2 : 00 p.m (35 hours per week).

The Centre for Research in Information and Communication Technologies (CITIC) comprises more than 200 researchers. Integrated within the CIGUS network, it provides researchers with high-performance computing infrastructures and specialized resources that facilitate the execution of projects in the fields of artificial intelligence, data science and engineering, high-performance computing, smart services and networks, and cybersecurity.

CITIC also undertakes strategic positioning actions in the areas of internationalization, technology transfer, and innovation.

The purpose of this contract is to carry out software engineering tasks, mainly focused on software development related to 3D visualization in the medical and educational fields, within a research line dedicated to scientific medical visualization.

The tasks fall within the field of computer graphics, 3D reconstruction and visualization through Volume Rendering techniques, 3D interaction, and virtual reality. New technologies enabling alternative reconstructions and representations—such as the use of AI techniques— may also be explored. Examples of the type of visualization and results achieved to date can be found at : cinem3d.citic.udc.es. Previous experience in the development of projects and / or software in relation to these fields will be valued for the position offered.

The following are considered disciplines related to the subject of this contract : computer graphics, programming in virtual reality environments, 3D interaction, 3D reconstruction and visualization, and medical imaging.

Engineering degree, university degree or equivalent (Grado).

Eligibility criteria

SELECTION CRITERIA (Scored out of 100 points) :

  • Undergraduate studies related to one of the specified disciplines (e.g., Computer Engineering, Physics or Mathematics). Scored proportionally to the average grade of credits completed on a scale of 10. (Max. 20 points)
  • Master’s studies related to one of the specified disciplines. Scored proportionally to the average grade of credits completed on a scale of 10. (Max. 10 points).
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s theses (TFG / TFM) related to one of the specified disciplines. Scored proportionally to the grade obtained. If both are presented, only the one with the higher grade will be considered. (Max. 10 points)
  • Professional experience (including internships) in projects clearly aligned with the specified disciplines. 3 points per month of experience. (Max. 18 points)
  • Research experience directly related to the specified disciplines. 5 points per published research article aligned with the disciplines (minimum JCR Q2 journal). (Max. 15 points)
  • English language proficiency. Demonstrable knowledge : 2 points maximum. Level B2 (1 point), and maximum for C1 or C2, always based on the CEFR.
  • Personal interview for the candidates with the highest scores in the previous sections, provided they reach a minimum of 30 points. (Max. 25 points)

The committee reserves the right to declare the position vacant if no candidate reaches at least 45 points.

The remaining candidates who exceed the minimum score will be ranked on a waiting list.

The interview score will not be considered for inclusion in the waiting list.
