Maximize the value of internal and external programs in the context of the Sandoz pipeline through commercial ownership of assigned assets and strategic projects.

Support Head Pipeline Biosimilar Platform to lead the pipeline vision, by managing the governance in building the pipeline through asset review and selection; supporting other strategic activities designed to build and maximize pipeline.

Job Description

Generics, divided between standard generics (mainly oral solids) and complex generics (including injectables, respiratory and others).

Biosimilars, where we are the global pioneer, with eight marketed medicines and a rapidly growing pipeline now counting 24 molecules.

As Associate Director Bio Pipeline, you will maximize the value of internal and external programs in the context of the Sandoz pipeline through commercial ownership of assigned assets and strategic projects.

Support Head Pipeline Biosimilar Platform to lead the pipeline vision, by managing the governance in building the pipeline through asset review and selection; supporting other strategic activities designed to build and maximize pipeline.

Major accountabilities :

  • Project the commercial potential of internal and external programs of medium complexity by :

Obtaining focused external insights on strategic pipeline and program questions.

  • Creating forecast scenarios that consider development, commercial and IP risks and opportunities. Applying and advancing statistical methods to simulate pipeline risks.
  • Liaising with colleagues in priority geographies and IM division / Onco BU on internal and external programs to share and obtain internal knowledge and to drive common understanding on commercial potential and key risks.
  • Drive value maximization through competitive Target Product Profile (TPP) design within and across GPTs by :

Translating innovator strategies and industry trends into prospective TPP landscapes.

  • Researching technological innovations and their potential to transform health care.
  • Contextualizing emerging therapy options with market realities (e.g. sustained affordability).
  • Shaping TPPs to optimize program value.
  • In partnership with Global Directors Pipeline, co-develop and provide thought leadership on strategic pipeline questions by :

Creating, leading, and contributing to cross-functional and cross-divisional initiatives that enable value maximization through molecule selection, product design and capability building.

  • Providing strategic guidance to the functions, driving lighthouse projects, supporting key initiatives and external collaborations.
  • Support strategic activities and established processes by :

Managing governance (pre and post meeting) for bi-annual Portfolio Review Meetings with senior Biopharma executive leadership presence.

  • Managing governance of pipeline selection process on annual basis, coordinating internal stakeholders and building compelling insights that enable go / no-go decisions, closely working with Global Directors Pipeline.
  • Delivering against special requests (periodic reports and commercial materials for IR, SANITY ownership etc.).

What you'll bring to the role :

A business and / or science background and degree is required. MD, science PhD, MBA or equivalent experience is desirable.

English fluent, another international language is beneficial.

Minimum 8 years pharma / life science industry expertise required preferably in specialty. Previous experience in life science consultancy would be considered an advantage.

To succeed the candidate will require :

  • Mature matrix leadership skills.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking to bridge marketing and science.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to align interests of multiple parties, and to be adaptable in a new and evolving area of the business.
