About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Inspector to support the quality assurance of electrical and instrumentation installations at our green hydrogen facility in Tarragona. This role plays a key part in ensuring site work complies with project specifications, industry standards, and EH&S requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Perform inspection of E&I installations per ITPs / ITRs and ensure work conforms to technical and quality requirements.
Review contractor procedures, ITPs, drawings, and documentation.
Complete and sign off Inspection Test Records (ITRs) using the client’s completions management system.
Compile, manage, and close Test Packs for systems completion.
Report on quality issues and provide updates to Site Quality and Project Management.
Generate and manage punch lists and NCRs, and drive timely resolution with contractors.
Assist with pre-commissioning and commissioning walkdowns, ensuring punch-point closures.
Support Commissioning teams with QA / QC oversight as needed.
Attend and contribute to internal and contractor coordination meetings.
Enforce compliance with EH&S standards and all site policies.
Prepare daily and weekly inspection and progress reports.
Additional Duties
Support the development and continuous improvement of quality control procedures.
Maintain calibration and condition of inspection tools and equipment.
Keep up to date with evolving industry regulations and instrumentation standards.
Interpret engineering drawings, vendor manuals, site maps, and schematics with accuracy.
Promote and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Candidate Requirements
Education & Training :
Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
Certified and trained to the relevant ATEX standards (mandatory).
Experience :
Demonstrated experience in a QA / QC Inspector role within onshore plants or oil & gas projects.
Strong background in E&I inspection in construction or commissioning phases.
Familiarity with green energy, hydrogen, or chemical plant environments is a plus.
Skills :
Sound knowledge of international E&I standards, codes, and safety protocols.
Proficient in the use of quality management systems, punch list software, and inspection tools.
Strong problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.
Fluent in English; Spanish language skills are advantageous.
Able to work both independently and in cross-functional teams on active construction sites.
Working Conditions
Site-based in Tarragona (El Morell), Spain – residential assignment.
Work schedule : Monday to Friday, 10 hours / day.
Must be comfortable working in construction and pre-commissioning environments.
