Akamá was granted the status of being of “interés general” to Spain in 2022 for its engagement in sustainability within the real estate sector. Each project emphasizes formal simplicity and a clear definition of volumes, drawing on the poetry of the context.

Role:

• Director of Project Delivery based in Palma de Mallorca.
• Potential medium to long-term (3-5 years) pathway to partnership related to business development contribution.
• Workplace is approximately 50% in the office and 50% on construction site visits (visiting each project every fortnight on average, depending on project stage).

Scope:

• Overall responsibility for delivering projects according to AKAMÁ standards.
• Construction costs per residential villa range between 7 and 20 million EUR; larger scope for hospitality projects.
• Oversee all national projects in the delivery phase.
• Revise timelines and check feasibility to ensure on-time delivery with project managers.
• Ensure budget compliance to deliver on cost targets.
• Verify correct execution of design details and quality standards with project managers.
• Serve as the main contact for clients on major issues and contingencies.
• Communicate at management level with construction companies, major suppliers, and international partners.
• Expand network of suppliers/subcontractors nationally and internationally.
• Coordinate communication with client lawyers and other relevant parties.
• Collaborate with the Chief Designer and architects on planning and design issues.
• Supervise tendering and RFQ processes.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers, representing the client’s interests.
• Adapt or revise contracts related to project delivery.
• Oversee and improve delivery processes, methodologies, and IT support.
• Lead debriefings and lessons learned to feed back into the design process.
• Define themes for knowledge management with the Director of Design.
• Maintain a solution-oriented approach, being persistent, meticulous, organized, and a team player with excellent communication skills.

Education and Expertise:

• Architect and/or Engineer with a mix of technical and architectural education.
• Site expertise, understanding typical pitfalls and crucial technical elements.
• Design competence with an eye for finishes, detailing, alignment, proportion, and aesthetics.
• Fluent in English and advanced in Spanish; German is a plus.
• Experience with BIM, passive house, BREEAM, etc., is advantageous.

Work Experience:

• International work experience or experience with an international team preferred.
• Background in high-end real estate development, architecture, or project management.
• Management experience with teams of 10+ members.
• 12+ years of relevant experience, age range approximately late 30s to mid-40s.
