YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of the Global Legal Team, the successful candidate will coordinate legal functions and provide support in Spain and other countries where Systra Ibérica operates, focusing on :
- Providing legal advice and analysis, mainly on contractual issues, related to project procurement activities.
- Drafting and advising on a variety of contracts and agreements for worldwide projects.
- Acting as a key point of contact for negotiations and contract performance with internal and external parties.
- Engaging with internal teams, clients, consortium partners, subcontractors, and legal advisors on a daily basis.
- Understanding active projects and upcoming tenders.
- Offering legal advisory services, risk identification, and mitigation strategies to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborating with management to meet objectives and ensure compliance through legal training.
- Coordinating with local insurance brokers and external legal counsel.
- Drafting legal notices and managing dispute cases.
- Supporting corporate governance processes in collaboration with Systra’s Head of Corporate Matters.
- Participating in the Systra Group legal network.
Educational Background
- Admitted as a solicitor in Spain is advantageous.
- Law Degree (LLM or PhD).
Language Skills
- Fluent in Spanish (written and spoken).
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- French and Portuguese are a plus but not mandatory.
Experience
- Strong knowledge of Spanish public procurement rules, engineering, and D&B / construction contracts is essential.
- Proven experience in negotiating and drafting contracts and transaction documents.
- Experience in an international environment preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of extensive relevant experience.
- Experience in-house and in law firms is desirable.
- Background in construction, transport, or engineering sectors is required; oil and gas, energy, or water sector experience is a plus.
