Your contribution :

Provide legal support and advice to the company on various legal matters for Clarios Spanish entities.

Ensure the company's compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Reports to the General Counsel EMEA with critical input from the Chief Legal Officer.

This position is located in Burgos, Spain.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide legal advice and support to various departments including sales, procurement, human resources, finance, and marketing.
  • Manage specific customer relationships as a Business Partner identified by the GC EMEA.
  • Review draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements such as supply agreements, distribution contracts, procurement contracts, and other contracts relevant to the automotive industry.
  • Advise on and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Provide practical, business-savvy counseling to the businesses in all areas of commercial transactions.
  • Assist in managing legal disputes and litigation matters, including liaising with external counsel, preparing legal documents, and advising on strategy.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain corporate policies and procedures.
  • Support M&A and other corporate transactions, including conducting due diligence, drafting transaction documents, and coordinating with external advisors.
  • Lead in updating forms, developing tools, playbooks, and processes.
  • Provide legal training to employees as necessary to promote a culture of compliance and legal awareness.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities related to the contract review process, including developing and implementing best practices.
  • Work collaboratively across regions with other members of the legal department, outside counsel, and other resources, taking leadership on project implementation.
  • Provide other general legal and compliance support to the business in Spain under the direction of the General Counsel EMEA.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • A Law degree (University / State examination or equivalent); admission to practice law in Spain is a plus.
  • At least 3 years of transactional experience, preferably in the automotive / manufacturing industry, a reputable law firm, or a corporate legal department of a multinational corporation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in commercial transactions and Spanish labor / employment law.
  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Team player with a proactive approach, strong interpersonal skills, and a willingness to collaborate across departments.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with management and other legal team members, with demonstrated influence skills.
  • Familiarity with working within a matrix environment across multiple business functions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Experience managing outside counsel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Spanish and English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, meet tight deadlines, and make sound judgments under pressure.
  • Expertise in corporate law is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
