Manager, Customer Warranty Problem Solving (Presential or Remote, Full-time)

TPI Composites is the leading wind-blade manufacturer and the only independent wind blade manufacturer with a global footprint. We are looking for a motivated Problem-Solving Manager to join our Customer Warranty Management (CWM) Department. The position reports to the Director, CWM Department.

Key objectives

The new Customer Warranty Management (CWM) Department oversees TPI Composite blade products' quality at customer sites (windfarms) within the warranty period. As our new Problem-Solving Manager, you are an excellent communicator, a people leader, and a recognized technical expert in composites engineering, manufacturing, and problem solving, with direct applicable knowledge of wind blades. You will lead a team of problem solvers, including technical leads and project managers, and drive the CWM Department towards high efficiency in resolving complex problems and exceeding customer expectations.

Main Responsibilities :

  1. Lead a team of Technical Leads (TLs) and Project Managers (PMs) responsible for managing open warranty projects across all customers, following the internal CWM process.
  2. Manage the team’s resources to support the demand from CWM Customer Relations Managers.
  3. Act as an internal (back-office) leader overseeing all warranty projects, while supporting customer communications as needed.
  4. Grow the team and continuously assess its capabilities to respond efficiently to business demands, working closely with CWM Customer Relations managers to understand customer and project needs, maintaining project resource planning, forecasting, and escalating resource shortages.
  5. Monitor progress and ensure consistency across warranty projects, taking accountability for timely delivery and quality reporting, including regular project reports and escalation of high risks to leadership.
  6. Mentor the team technically and on CWM processes, leveraging expertise in problem solving, blades technologies, engineering, and quality.
  7. Collaborate with the CWM Lean System leader to improve the CWM process continually.
  8. Work with Customer Relations managers and system managers to improve customer satisfaction regarding TPI’s responsiveness to urgent risks.
  9. Support escalation of internal resource allocation from other functions when required.
  10. Ensure the quality of warranty project reviews and take lead on critical warranty projects when necessary.

Qualifications & Experience

  1. Degree in Engineering required; MSc, MBA, or PhD preferred.
  2. At least 15 years of industry experience, with a minimum of 10 years in wind blade composites.
  3. Experience in project management; PMP certification preferred.
  4. Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification and a strong track record in problem analysis and resolution.
  5. Proficiency in computer tools and excellent presentation skills.
  6. High attention to quality and detail orientation.
  7. Ability to work effectively with vendors, customers, and team members.
  8. Experience leading high-performance teams.
  9. Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  10. Fluent in English (spoken, read, written).
