Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our Finance team in Porto, Portugal. Be part of a global leader in logistics and make an impact together!

As a Business Controller, you will pursue financial condition and cash flow, monitor & ensure the financial balance. You will record and report revenue & costs transactions, analyze financial data and budgets, minimize risk, and ensure that the financial administrative system is efficient and compliant with regulations and Group guidelines.

How You Will Contribute

  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas of improvement.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports and presentations for senior management.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support business decisions.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Monitor actual performance against budgets and forecasts, providing explanations for variances.
  • Collaborate with department heads to ensure accurate and timely forecasting.
  • Conduct profitability and cost analysis to support business initiatives.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of potential projects and investments.
  • Provide recommendations based on financial analysis to improve business performance.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Maintain and update financial databases and systems.
  • Automate and streamline financial processes where possible.
  • Work closely with other departments (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Operations) to gather relevant data and insights.
  • Support cross-functional projects with financial analysis and business case development.
  • Act as a liaison between the finance department and other business units.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Identify and assess financial risks and opportunities.
  • Assist in internal and external audits as required.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.
  • Propose and implement process improvements to enhance financial operations.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience as a Business Controller, preferably within logistics or freight forwarding.
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards, and financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Portuguese, Spanish, and French is a plus.
  • Flexibility to travel between 20-30% of the time.
