Our customer is a well-established multinational company specializing in environmental services, electrical infrastructure maintenance, and facility management. Its core business includes vegetation maintenance near power grids (high, medium, and low voltage), design and care of industrial and urban green areas, construction and maintenance of electrical substations and stations, technical and industrial cleaning, and auxiliary services for energy installations such as solar plants. The Spanish subsidiary is in a strategic growth phase and plays a key role in the group's regional expansion plans.

Mission of the Role

The General Manager will be the top executive responsible for the company’s operations in Spain. Their mission is to consolidate the company’s presence in the region, strengthen its operational and commercial structure, ensure profitability, and design a sustainable growth roadmap. The role requires strategic vision aligned with corporate goals, with hands-on execution capabilities and strong leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic and Operational Leadership

• Develop and implement a local business strategy aligned with the group’s vision.
• Oversee all functional areas: operations, commercial, finance, HR, and compliance.
• Drive operational transformation, digitalization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Business Development and Commercial Management

• Expand the client base by creating tailored value propositions for the Spanish market.
• Identify tenders, partnerships, and growth opportunities in key sectors: energy, infrastructure, renewables, and industrial services.
• Strengthen institutional and strategic stakeholder relationships.

Talent Management and Leadership

• Lead, inspire, and develop a team of around 50 employees, fostering a culture of high performance and safety.
• Define and monitor KPIs and ensure regular team performance assessments.

Financial and Performance Management

• Full P&L responsibility for the Spanish subsidiary.
• Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and corporate reporting.
• Identify cost optimization opportunities and margin improvement actions.

Compliance and Quality

• Ensure compliance with Spanish labour, environmental, safety, and quality regulations.
• Implement and enforce internal policies and ethical standards in line with corporate guidelines.

Candidate Profile

• Education: University degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or related fields. Postgraduate studies (e.g., MBA, Master’s in Finance or Strategy) are a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years in senior leadership roles, ideally as General Manager, COO, or Business Unit Director. Preferably in sectors such as infrastructure, energy, environmental services, or industrial maintenance.
• Technical Skills: Strong financial acumen, experience in managing tenders, contracts, and project lifecycles in technical environments.
• Core Competencies: Leadership, strategic thinking, results orientation, negotiation, proactivity, and the ability to manage uncertainty.
• Languages: Fluent in Spanish and English (C1). Italian is a plus.
• Mobility: Willingness to travel frequently within Spain and occasionally internationally.
