UPMC Community Medicine Incorporated is hiring a Flex Full-Time Professional Staff Nurse, OP to support Elizabeth Township Family Medicine.

Hours: Monday-Friday, daylight

Location: Elizabeth

Department Details: Elizabeth Township is a practice with two physicians and two advanced practice practitioners: Dr. Richard Toth, Dr. Luna Chen, Patty Szabo (CRNP), and Melissa Whoolery. It is a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment, with ongoing process updates. The practice includes two other nurses.

Purpose:
The Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse responsible for setting standards of care, managing patient activities, and providing nursing care through independent judgment and collaboration. The nurse establishes relationships with physicians, healthcare providers, patients, and families to achieve positive outcomes and demonstrates commitment to the community and nursing profession.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in quality improvement efforts, identify opportunities for enhancement, and support patient satisfaction initiatives. Use research and evidence-based practices to improve clinical care.
  • Build positive relationships with team members, handle multiple priorities, exercise good clinical judgment, and demonstrate physical stamina and manual dexterity for patient care activities.
  • Apply adult learning principles to teach patients, families, students, and staff, providing comprehensive education and fostering an environment of continuous development.
  • Develop holistic care plans involving patients as partners, triage situations, coordinate with physicians, and assist in assessment, evaluation, and education. Communicate effectively and document thoroughly to ensure continuity of care.
  • Take accountability for professional growth, participate in governance, and support quality and practice improvements. Be an engaged team member and adapt to changes effectively.
  • Build productive relationships, demonstrate cultural competence, and maintain a healthy work-life balance. Report safety hazards and promote a safe work environment.
