Job Description : Summary :

The Technical Writer impacts the compliance of regulatory and company requirements for aircraft, component, and company manuals and forms. The role involves performing tasks to support this effort. The position is for a contractor to work onsite in Teruel, Spain, with some travel expenses reimbursed.

Job Responsibilities :

  1. Author engineering order documents to instruct aircraft mechanics and inspectors on tasks required for compliance with manufacturer or DER-authorized repairs.
  2. Author documents to instruct on compliance with Regulatory Airworthiness Directives (EASA, FAA, CAA, etc.) using authorized sources such as OEM service bulletins and regulatory documents.
  3. Create maintenance program task cards for aircraft mechanics and inspectors in accordance with Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA).
  4. Make technical decisions regarding the applicability of tasks listed in various technical and regulatory documents based on aircraft configuration and requirements.
  5. Ensure documents are of high quality, free of errors.
  6. Coordinate work to meet established deadlines.
  7. Log and track tasks and work hours accurately.
  8. Participate in meetings and contribute effectively.
  9. Support additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience :

Required :

  • Must be able to work full-time onsite in Teruel, Spain.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience authoring aircraft maintenance work instructions.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to aircraft configuration control.
  • Understanding of OEM and Type Certificate Holder manuals.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Able and willing to travel as needed.
  • High performance in quality and quantity of work.
  • Willing to adhere to confidentiality policies.

Preferred :

  • Valid FAA Airframe and/or Power Plant licenses or equivalent.
  • Aircraft mechanic experience (minimum 2 years).
  • Higher education degree in aviation or related field.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience with MS Word, Adobe Acrobat DC, SmartSheet, MS SharePoint, TEAMS, and OneDrive.
