Offer Description

Research Support Technician to work on the project ‘EFFECTIVE FUNCTIONS OF NK CELLS IN COVID-19 PATIENTS : CYTOKIN PRODUCTION, NATURAL AND ANTICUPERPOSE-DEPENDENT CYTOTOTOXICITY’ of IIS Biobizkaia (Ref. 2020111045).

  • Obtaining PBMCs from peripheral blood and buffy coats.
  • Purification and culture of NK cells.
  • Culture of cell lines.
  • Functional assays with NK cells : natural cytotoxicity, ADCC and cytokine production.
  • Design of panels for flow cytometry (more than 12 colours) and spectral cytometry.
  • Acquisition of samples in cytometers.
  • Analysis and interpretation of results.

Specific Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences.
  • Master's degree in progress or completed within the last two years.
  • Knowledge and experience in flow cytometry techniques : extraction and quantification of PBMCs, design of flow cytometry panels of more than 12 colours, supervised and unsupervised analysis in FlowJo, tSNE, UMAP, FlowSOM, etc. (At least 6 months of experience).
  • Spoken and written English (minimum level B2).
  • Basic salary for the category : 25.337 € gross per year full-time.
  • Unit or service : Immunopathology Group.
  • Planned start date : July 2025.

Eligibility criteria

  • Experience in the study of immune cell subpopulations. (0-40)
  • Knowledge and experience in other cell and molecular biology laboratory techniques : westen blots, PCR, cell cultures, microscopy, etc. (0-25)
  • Knowledge of computer programmes : Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.), GraphPad Prism, R, Ensemble, etc. (0-20)
  • Spoken and written knowledge of Basque. (C1) (0-10)
  • Certificate of disability (minimum 33%). (0-5)
