Job title : Solar Civil / Mechanical Engineer

Location : Spain (Remote)

TGRC is seeking a Solar Civil / Mechanical Engineer to join a leading solar developer and IPP. The successful candidate will be responsible for civil design and calculations, serving as a subject matter expert in discussions with lenders’ technical advisors.

Responsibilities :

  • Ensure compliance of civil, mechanical, and structural engineering designs with applicable norms, regulations, and project-specific requirements.
  • Maintain current knowledge of civil, mechanical, and structural design standards.
  • Prepare requirements for structural assessments, topographical, geotechnical, soil investigations, and other studies.
  • Analyze reports and translate findings into design requirements.
  • Utilize AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and PV design software for conceptual and detailed drawings.
  • Develop technical specifications and coordinate with the engineering team for PV system design.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in discussions with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Support project development, acquisition, and construction stages.
  • Assist the procurement team in analyzing technical solutions from suppliers.
  • Liaise with the on-site Owner’s Engineer during construction.
  • Stay updated on developments in civil and structural engineering.
  • Apply knowledge of photovoltaics and engineering practices to optimize designs.

Qualifications :

  • Over 5 years of experience in Utility Solar Power Plants.
  • Experience in other energy markets such as Oil & Gas, Wind, Storage, etc.
  • On-site work experience with complex soil conditions.
  • Experience dealing with hybrid systems.
  • A working understanding of energy project finance
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from a recognized accredited program in the candidate's home country or the country of practice.
  • Self-motivated, customer-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams, and independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in other languages such as Spanish, Swedish, Polish, French, or Italian is a plus.
  • Familiarity with international standards applicable to PV Solar Projects, such as IEC, IEEE, EN, UNE, UL, etc.
  • Experience managing GIS tools like Google Earth or similar.
