The Finance Controller is a key member of the Finance department, providing accounting support to the regional office of a UK listed predictive genetics business (GENinCode Plc). This role supports the finance team in delivering accurate reporting, cost control, and performance analysis. Key activities include stock control and COGS recognition, supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts, and general accounting. The Finance Controller will also work closely with other departments to ensure that the correct commercial policies and processes are in place and adhered to.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Reporting activities, including but not limited to:
- Support monthly reporting analysis: P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash flow – Carry forward.
- Perform variance analysis and provide insights into operational performance.
- Monitor and evaluate profitability, margins, and cost efficiency across business units.
Accountancy activities, including but not limited to:
- Maintain stock control and COGS recognition, looking at efficiencies and variance analysis.
- Perform general ledger transaction processing in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepare month-end close according to the company closing schedule.
- Provide accurate and timely accounts reconciliations, including intercompany and general ledger.
- Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports.
- Support the preparation of tax documentation for filing, liaising with external tax advisors.
Other activities, including but not limited to:
- Implement and use ERP automatic processes and manage ad hoc workflow information.
- Support the preparation of annual accounts and audits.
- Write operating procedures.
Perform other duties as required by the Finance Director (Spain).
Cooperate with all GENinCode departments.
Education / Essential: Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
Required Experience: Understanding of accounting principles and financial processes. Desirable 1-2 years of experience in a financial role or as a finance auditor.

Language Skills: Fluent in English (oral and written).
Computer Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ERP SAGE knowledge is desirable.
