Corporate Strategy – Market Research Lead

Supports the Head of Corporate Strategy by providing rigorous, in-depth market data analysis to facilitate key decision-making at the executive committee level.

The role plays a crucial part in raising the company's standards by providing a deep understanding of ecosystem markets through the 'Market Center of Excellence' (Market Lighthouse), building and regularly updating market models for key ecosystem products (e.g., Accommodation, M&E), and delivering analysis outcomes that become the reference point for market data organization-wide. This includes updates on industry trends, market news, and the competitive landscape, including quarterly reporting reflections.

The position also supports the Strategy Planning Program, fostering collaboration between Commercial Strategy, Finance, Budget & Forecasting, and Commercial Planning & Performance functions. It ensures ownership, accountability, and the achievement of key milestones for delivering the Strategic Plan (e.g., 3YP).

Responsibilities:

  • Develops Market Lighthouse “Centre of Excellence” reports through continuous assessment of market trends, company results, threats, and opportunities impacting the business. This involves building proprietary ecosystem market models to understand market size, growth, and key trends, including macroeconomic KPI correlations for accurate industry growth forecasts.
  • Conducts primary research via quarterly analysis of major travel companies, external data providers (e.g., Euromonitor, PW, Bank research), internal stakeholders, and attendance at trade conferences.
  • Prepares competitive landscape reports to inform strategic and commercial actions by understanding competitors’ goals, size, growth, and profitability.
  • Shares weekly key stock market highlights with Exco, Board, and investors.

Supports the annual Strategic Planning Process by:

  • Identifying key internal and external issues and opportunities through market and competitor analysis.
  • Assisting in selecting strategic objectives with senior management to define initiatives.
  • Defining a cross-collaborative framework to deliver strategic initiatives with clear quantification and financial impact projections.

Skills: Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, strong problem-solving, creative thinking, and communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong financial acumen and understanding of budgeting principles. Excellent presentation skills to synthesize complex topics for senior stakeholders. Good judgment and ability to make timely, sound decisions. Ability to build relationships with senior internal stakeholders.

Experience: Minimum 4 years in market research/analysis within a Strategy Consulting firm or global organizations.

Qualifications: Degree in Management, Engineering, or related fields.
