At ING, we are looking for a Transformation & People Strategist.
Your role and work environment
Do you believe that sustainable transformation occurs when people and performance evolve together? Are you passionate about making meaningful change?
If so, this role is for you.
As a Transformation & People Strategist, you will drive sustainable transformation within the Core Banking, Client, and Financial Crime Prevention (FCP) Tribes. You will be part of the Challengers Team, reporting to the Challenger Lead of the Value Chain Daily, within ING’s Transformation Office Tribe.
This hands-on role involves working closely with the Leadership team, acting as a partner and driver for strategic topics with high relevance across the tribe. You will bring a broad perspective to connect dots and elevate discussions, helping Tribe Leads and People Leaders to collaborate beyond silos while shaping a cohesive approach to people engagement and performance.
You are positioned at the heart of the tribe—not as support, but as a catalyst for change, challenging patterns and fostering connections between performance and development to help the tribe thrive.
You will join a growing Challengers Team that supports each other, shares learnings, and evolves as a transformation capability within ING.
Your work will involve collaborating with Tribe Leads, People Leaders, HR Business Partners, and Talent & Training teams.
You will translate insights into actionable outcomes, strategy into execution, and complexity into clarity.
Your key responsibilities
- Lead the intersection of People & Productivity, identifying and activating the engagement-performance link, and defining what ‘good’ looks like.
- Lead the People Agenda by structuring regular leadership discussions on engagement, development, performance, and workforce planning.
- Drive the Unlock Full Potential strategy, providing visibility and career pathways for high-potential talent.
- Manage the Tribe’s training budget, aligning investments with strategic priorities.
- Act as a strategic challenger, providing direction, sparking courageous conversations, and guiding leadership reflection with constructive input.
- Own change initiatives from design through implementation and impact measurement, especially those aimed at improving engagement and productivity.
- Use data and metrics to influence decisions, identify pain points, and support cross-domain collaboration.
- Co-design and monitor tribe-wide learning and engagement initiatives in partnership with people leaders and the Transformation Office.
- Accelerate execution by improving delivery focus, risk management, and leadership alignment.
- Foster a culture of reflection and continuous learning, promoting better decision-making.
- Utilize data sources like Pulse, OHI, and performance metrics to challenge the status quo and inform decisions.
- Contribute to the broader Challenger network, sharing insights and evolving collective impact.
- Translate organizational intentions into daily practices that unlock tribe potential.
- Lead or co-lead OKRs and Portfolio Management capabilities, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Partner with Scrum Masters and Product Owners to enhance team effectiveness and resolve delivery issues.
- Lead or co-lead Communities of Practice (CoPs) and capability initiatives to foster ongoing improvement.
You are a strong fit if you :
- Thrive in both functional and cross-functional environments, leading through influence.
- Balance speed with people focus, and delivery with development.
- View transformation as a human-centered journey.
- Are a connector and change leader with stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
- See connections others might miss, joining the dots effectively.
- Possess strong project delivery skills and comfort with complexity.
- Communicate clearly and precisely, simplifying complex data and assumptions.
- Combine empathy with analytical thinking, energizing conversations and translating insights into actions.
- Enjoy working with data and people to identify patterns and simplify complexity.
- Are energizing, structured, an active listener, and action-oriented.
- Navigates ambiguity confidently, connecting dots and challenging assumptions constructively.
