QA Engineer

Then, as part of YBVR’s Quality Assurance team in Madrid (Spain), you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering new features and shaping the future of VR with our industry-leading video streaming technologies.

Role Overview :

As a QA Engineer, you have a head for processes, an eye for detail and love being the first to try out new immersive video experiences. As a member of the YBVR Quality Assurance team, you will have a chance to get inside the VR world with the most advanced video streaming technologies. You will ensure that our unique technologies not only make possible what the rest of the industry thinks impossible, but that we do it consistently with reliability and quality.

You will work in a very dynamic environment with an incredibly positive vibe and with a range of people from product managers and designers to developers and business analysts to bring new features into the world. And you will simultaneously help to shape our quality practices with the rest of the QA team.

Responsibilities :

• Perform exploratory tests across the entire stack of technologies to ensure an exceptional user experience for our VR app, mobile apps (Android and iOS), Android TV and web.
• Collaborate with product managers and UX designers to refine features and contribute to requirements, advocating for the user experience.
• Provide test feedback and pair up with developers to test the features throughout the development process.
• Track and prioritize bug reports in collaboration with the team.
• Manage and improve manual test suites while supporting developers in maintaining automated test suites.
• Assist in exploring and setting up proof of concepts for test automation solutions.
• Promote good QA practices and foster a Quality Assurance mindset within the development team.
• Set up and maintain test environments.
• 1-3 years of QA experience on Android, iOS, and web apps.
• Can find and report bugs and are thrilled to identify the root cause.
• Love to understand every detail of a product and its impact on our users.
• You believe quality is a collective effort rather than one person’s responsibility.
• Strong analytical skills, highly self-driven, reliable, and keen to learn.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills in English.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Are familiar with test management tools.

Desirable Skills (Not required, but would give you an edge) :

• Have studies in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or any similar technical field.
• Experience with Cypress or any other front-end testing tool.
• Hands-on experience with Appium or similar client automation frameworks.
• Experience with API testing tools.
• Have previous experience testing video players and apps.
• Have experience with video streaming protocols such as HLS or MPEG-DASH.
• Super bonus if you have experience (even as a user) with VR apps / games.
