For one of our key clients, a world leader in materials technology, Coalesce Management Consulting (CMC) is seeking a Project Engineer to support the construction of a megaproject in Northern Spain.

Once the construction phase begins, full on-site presence will be required, expected to start towards the end of this year or early next year.

You will initially work as an independent consultant (autónomo) through CMC, with the client intending to make the role permanent after or within the 2-year contract, based on successful collaboration.

The role involves coordinating the design and construction within your area of expertise and requires the following qualities:

  • University degree or equivalent in Engineering, preferably Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Automation
  • Technical experience in executing engineering projects in the mentioned fields
  • Relevant experience with industrial projects in operational environments
  • Knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD
  • Understanding of EHS standards, industry best practices, and legal requirements related to your specialty
  • Fluent in Spanish and English, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Ability to perform tasks according to established rules and procedures

You will work closely with the Program Director & Project Manager to:

  • Prepare, review, and approve technical documentation for project design phases, ensuring standards, guidelines, safety, and cost-effectiveness
  • Ensure project documents are complete and suitable for a competitive tender process
  • Support procurement by screening bids and confirming receipt of components and works
  • Control costs during project execution
  • Supervise construction, installation, and commissioning within your responsibility
  • Coordinate with other engineering teams to integrate work and meet deadlines without delays
  • Execute tasks efficiently, safely, reliably, and cost-effectively
  • Make timely and quality decisions within your engineering scope
  • Gather data to inform decision-making on complex issues
  • Propose improvements in procedures, technology, and productivity
  • Capture lessons learned and user feedback for future projects
  • Participate in internal and external audits
  • Perform all duties safely, complying with environmental, health, and safety regulations
