The Senior Coastal Lead is responsible for fulfilling our promise to our customers through reliable first- and last-mile delivery. The role bridges commercial pursuits with operational efficiency.

This position is part of the Europe TbM (Transported by Maersk) Operations business unit. Europe TbM Operations is an engaged team responsible for delivering Maersk's promise to customers by ensuring cargo is loaded and delivered on time, providing accurate vessel schedules, coordinating with partners and suppliers, driving port productivity, managing costs, and ensuring equipment availability. We prioritize customer satisfaction in every action. Europe TbM is an international, diverse environment with approximately 1150 colleagues across Europe, headquartered in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Be the first point of escalation for stakeholders.
  2. Lead performance discussions with 3rd party suppliers to ensure service quality.
  3. Oversee execution readiness for the modular network and cargo reliability.
  4. Drive customer experience and support commercial growth.
  5. Manage vessel scheduling, berth planning, and ensure reliability and efficiency.
  6. Coordinate with feeder operators to maintain schedules and protect port connections.
  7. Maintain accurate schedules for reliable customer information.
  8. Optimize vessel and network utilization based on demand.
  9. Manage contingencies to minimize customer impact.
  10. Achieve high service utilization through forecasting and analysis.
  11. Plan for seasonal changes and collaborate across teams.
  12. Support empty flow management and process improvements aligned with Maersk’s digital transformation.

Who we are looking for :

  • Experience in maritime logistics.
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Maritime Studies, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to act quickly.
  • Customer-centric mindset and quality focus.
  • Ability to foresee and mitigate disruptions.
  • Teamwork and stakeholder management skills.
  • Decision-making confidence.
  • Ownership and adaptability in complex situations.
  • Fluent in English; Spanish and French are a plus.
