About The Position

We are seeking a General Accountant to join our Finance team in Barcelona. The Accountant will be responsible for preparing accurate financial statements and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations. This role requires analytical skills and a thorough understanding of financial principles. You will review all accounting activities to meet internal and external reporting and control requirements.

The position is based in our Barcelona office with a hybrid work model requiring a minimum of 2 days in the office. Applicants must hold a valid Right to Work in Spain.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with issuing customer invoices, processing bank data, and entering vendor invoices.
  • Manage contract renewal processes for selected customers.
  • Oversee the Accounts Receivable (AR) collections process.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and reports.
  • Analyze financial data for accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax accounting.
  • Monitor account balances and resolve discrepancies.
  • Perform detailed account reconciliations.
  • Assist in preparing budget variances.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Implement improvements to accounting processes and systems.
  • Stay updated on relevant accounting regulations.
  • Train and mentor junior staff.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of Spanish tax legislation and compliance.
  • Experience managing relationships with stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of accounting practices, finance, or related fields, with experience in financial statements, reconciliations, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency with advanced software features for reporting.
  • Ability to lead projects, innovate, and train peers.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills.
  • Comprehensive industry and operational knowledge.
  • Ability to apply best practices in financial reporting and compliance.

Compensation
