Engineering Manager (2-4 Tech Teams)

Our client — a European-scale digital company — is looking for an experienced Domain Technical Lead (DTL) to lead their MarTech domain and guide a team of Squad Technical Leads across multiple platforms and initiatives.

This is a strategic leadership role for someone who combines strong engineering fundamentals, product vision, and a proven ability to scale technical organizations. As a DTL, you will help shape the future of MarTech at scale, influencing both technology and organizational design — with direct impact on millions of users across Europe.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Squad Technical Leads (STLs), supporting hiring, coaching, and team development.
• Define the long-term technology vision for the MarTech domain, aligned with overall business goals.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, learning, and innovation across teams.
• Act as a technical liaison between engineering, product, and executive leadership.
• Ensure robust, secure, and scalable domain-wide architecture.
• Proactively identify risks and lead mitigation strategies across projects and platforms.

2. Delivery & Operational Excellence

• Guide STLs in implementing Agile practices, DevOps methodologies, and continuous delivery pipelines.
• Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of engineering initiatives across the MarTech stack.
• Collaborate with Product Owners to align engineering work with business priorities and delivery timelines.
• Champion operational excellence, from monitoring and performance optimization to incident response.
• Coordinate closely with other domain leaders to share best practices and align cross-domain initiatives.

3. Innovation & Technical Growth

• Design and scale engineering solutions that meet both user and regulatory demands.
• Evaluate technology partnerships, integrations, and platform evolution from a risk and value standpoint.
• Track domain KPIs to improve engineering performance and business alignment.
• Represent the company externally at tech events and forums (optional, but encouraged).
• Promote contributions to open-source and internal knowledge sharing.

Must-Have Experience

• Proven track record leading other technical leaders and senior engineering teams.
• Strong technical background in software engineering, architecture, and delivery at scale.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and strategic thinking.
• Experience with team performance management, mentoring, and career development.
• Data-driven decision-maker with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to align engineering execution with product and business strategy.
