Responsibilities
- Understand user and customer needs, define solutions with the team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop the backend for Prowler.
- Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable backend APIs using containerized Django apps and Python.
- Contribute to backend architecture and infrastructure planning.
- Optimize system performance, reliability, scalability, and security in a cloud-native environment.
- Work with product owners, designers, and developers to define project requirements.
- Lead code reviews, automated testing, and deployment workflows, mentoring others.
- Improve best practices and industry standards.
- Manage and optimize relational databases, primarily PostgreSQL.
- Participate in community support, guiding others.
Qualifications / Skills / Experience
- Advanced proficiency in Python; experience with Django is a plus.
- 5+ years in backend development or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design and implementation.
- Expertise in relational database design, especially PostgreSQL.
- Experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows.
- Knowledge of security, scalability, and maintainability best practices.
- Experience with containers (Docker) and orchestration (ECS, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and deployment automation.
- Advocate for unit testing, documentation, and high code standards.
- Ability to work independently and remotely.
- Fluent in English; startup mindset: proactive, initiative-taking.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Background in cloud security.
- Contributions to open source projects.

Work Hours & Benefits
This is a full-time, salaried role involving coding, testing, and deployment at scale. As a fully remote team across U.S. and EU time zones, responsibility for working hours and availability is essential.
