English Conversation Assistant in a High-Complexity School

What is a High-Complexity School?

A high-complexity school is an educational environment that serves students with diverse needs, often influenced by social, economic, and cultural factors that affect their learning process. These schools typically have a high proportion of students in vulnerable situations, special educational needs, and linguistic and cultural diversity, among other factors that require personalized attention and inclusive methodologies. The main goal is to provide a safe and opportunity-rich space where children and young people can develop academically and emotionally, turning small achievements into great milestones.

Main Responsibilities :

  • Integrate the use of English in the daily life of the high-complexity school in a meaningful and cross-disciplinary way.
  • Transform language learning into an enriching and immersive experience for students.
  • Promote emotional learning and the discovery of a new language and culture through small achievements and purposeful actions.
  • Create a safe and welcoming space where students can explore new learning and personal development opportunities.
  • Support students in their learning process, helping them overcome difficulties and fostering a positive experience with the language.

Secondary Responsibilities :

  • Create opportunities for students to develop and express themselves in a safe environment.
  • Complement existing resources and propose innovative strategies to encourage English learning in a vulnerable context.
  • Design and lead community activities to reinforce the integration of the language in school life.
  • Encourage the use of English through active, dynamic, and student-centered methodologies.
  • Collaborate with the teaching staff in implementing conflict management and peaceful dispute resolution strategies.

Candidate Profile :

  • Professionals or students of Social Work, Psychology, Social Education, Teaching, Pedagogy, Occupational Therapy, Mediation, or related fields.
  • Individuals with a high level of English and a passion for teaching and inclusion.
  • Candidates with experience or interest in working in conflictive and high-complexity environments.
  • Skills in emotional management, conflict mediation, non-violent communication, and tension resolution.
  • Ability to work in a team, empathy, and creativity to develop support and learning strategies in challenging contexts.

Requirements :

  • Work Permit : Valid permit to work in Spain
  • English Proficiency : Fluent in English with excellent command of the language - High level of English proficiency
  • Spanish : Good knowledge of Spanish
  • Education in one of the mentioned fields or students in their final year.
  • Additional training in conflict resolution and intervention in vulnerable contexts will be valued.
