Junior Security-Focused Engineer, Tres Cantos

We are seeking a Engineer with 1+ year of experience and a strong interest in system hardening, Kubernetes (K8s) security, network hardening, penetration testing, and cybersecurity. This role is ideal for someone eager to grow their expertise in secure software development, cloud security, and infrastructure protection while working alongside experienced teams. You will:

• Assist in hardening systems, Kubernetes clusters, and network infrastructures against threats.
• Implement Kubernetes security best practices (pod security policies, network policies, etc.).
• Monitor security vulnerabilities and apply patches and mitigations.
• Work with DevOps and security teams to improve secure CI/CD pipelines.
• Research and implement best practices for cloud and container security.
• Participate in security assessments.

What do we need in our team?

We are looking for IT graduates with basic knowledge of Kubernetes security (RBAC, Pod Security Standards, etc.) with a background and interest in:

• Familiarity with network security and system hardening techniques.
• Interest in penetration testing and cybersecurity frameworks.
• Understanding of security tools like Trivy is a plus.
• Strong desire to learn and grow in the field of cybersecurity.

We will also value previous experience and knowledge in:

• Analysis and resolution of CVEs
• Use of CVSS for re-evaluation of vulnerabilities
• Automation of tasks related to the previous points
