Relevant experience in people and stakeholder management

Operations is the core of Amazon. This department ensures efficient order fulfillment and dispatch to deliver items on time. Operations Managers lead teams to excel in safety, quality, and productivity across sites. In this role, you will lead managers and develop operational plans to meet targets, focusing on operational excellence for the future of Amazon.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a team of Area Managers.
  • Lead operational teams during shifts, address issues, and improve site performance.
  • Analyze shift performance against business objectives and implement improvement actions.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, Health and Safety, and Security teams.
  • Design and implement initiatives to enhance operational performance.

A day in the life

You will oversee shifts at an operational site and coordinate with various teams including finance, safety, and operations. Your role involves managing daily operations, performance metrics, and planning for demand fluctuations. Mentoring and coaching your team to develop managerial skills will be a daily focus, providing leadership and support.

About the team

The Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) team is vital for Amazon’s delivery speed. Using air, sea, and road transport, along with advanced sortation centers, the team ensures maximum efficiency. They leverage data to drive decisions, fostering innovation and efficiency while prioritizing safety and sustainability.

Preferred qualifications such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen are not mandatory but beneficial.

Additional requirements

  • Experience in logistics environments.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
