Our ARQUIMEA SPACE division develops spaceflight parts and equipment for satellites and launchers. We specialize in thermal control systems, structural panels, optical payloads, avionics, release and deployment mechanisms, and rad-hard microelectronics. In collaboration with our tech partners, we deliver high-throughput smallsats and their subsystems. Our new factory in Madrid is equipped for satellite and constellation integration.
We are seeking a Space Program Product Assurance specialist to ensure the reliability, safety, and quality of our spacecraft programs, including satellite mass production, through robust PA processes, compliance frameworks, and risk mitigation strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality & Reliability Assurance: Establish and enforce quality control measures throughout the spacecraft production lifecycle to ensure mission success and product integrity.
- Process Standardization & Industrialization: Develop and implement standardized PA processes aligned with industry standards (ECSS, AS9100, NASA, ESA) to streamline manufacturing.
- Supplier & Subcontractor Quality Management: Oversee qualification, audits, and performance evaluations to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Non-Conformance & Risk Management: Identify, analyze, and resolve non-conformities, implementing CAPA to minimize risks and promote continuous improvement.
- Material & Component Assurance: Ensure all materials and components meet space industry reliability standards, including screening and failure analysis.
- Testing & Validation Oversight: Supervise spacecraft verification, environmental testing, and in-orbit performance validation.
- Configuration & Change Management: Oversee design and process changes, ensuring traceability and compliance.
- Regulatory & Compliance Oversight: Ensure adherence to international space regulations and best practices.
- Manufacturing Process Audits: Conduct audits to verify compliance and improve production efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to integrate PA requirements.
Qualifications and Candidate Profile:
- Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
- Master’s in Quality, Reliability, or Systems Engineering is a plus.
- Certifications such as AS9100, ISO9001, Lead Auditor, Six Sigma, or ECSS PA standards are desirable.
- At least 10 years in product assurance, quality assurance, or reliability engineering in aerospace or high-reliability manufacturing, with 5+ years in space sector.
- Experience with quality improvement, supplier qualification, incoming inspections, LAT, and counterfeit parts prevention.
- Experience in high-throughput satellite or spacecraft component manufacturing.
- Proficiency in root cause analysis, FMEA, FTA, and risk assessment.
- Knowledge of NASA, ESA, or commercial space certification and regulations.
- Hands-on experience with failure analysis and non-conformance management.
The position is based at our headquarters in Torrejón de Ardoz, Madrid. Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU and capable of traveling to the US.
