Desktop Support Engineer

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Based in the Gibraltar office, the key responsibilities will be to provide first and second line desktop & remote IT support to all levels of users within the group. This role would also suit someone with experience of building and deploying workstations and have around 2-4 years’ experience in IT desktop support.

Ideally, the candidate would be able to speak Spanish, hold a driving license, and own their transport.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide first and second line desktop & remote IT support to all levels of users within the group.
• Take ownership of complex Incident and Problem cases and document resolution in helpdesk software.
• Log all helpdesk calls.
• Plan and carry out changes in response to Projects, Work orders, and Service requests.
• Support Telephony systems and associated infrastructure.
• Build servers and workstations as required, and test patch and version releases.
• Comply with IT policies and procedural controls.
• Liaise with external companies and suppliers to resolve issues or implement changes as directed by the IT Manager.
• Support off-site and maritime operations onboard vessels in the Gibraltar area, including occasional travel, evening, and weekend work.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential : Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish. A flexible and adaptable attitude, with the ability to multi-task and respond quickly to changing priorities. Effective time management and organisational skills. Ability to work cooperatively and contribute to team performance.

Desirable : Experience with Azure Active Directory, Exchange Online, Office 365, Mobile Device Management, Citrix, Windows Desktops, and cybersecurity practices.
