Techno/Functional Consultant - Power Platform

HCL Tech’s Microsoft Business Applications Practice - (MBAP) is seeking a Techno / Functional Consultant - Power Platform to join their award-winning and growing team. This individual will have hands-on development experience and will work collaboratively with consultants and architects to ensure deliverables meet the needs of the business and aim to add value to the Power Platform team and customers.

The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of all components of the Power Platform and be a champion of delivering requirements using code-free solutions. They will stay updated on the latest platform functionalities and work with team members in project and practice contexts. Excellent consultancy and communication skills are essential, along with stakeholder engagement experience. The candidate should have exposure to all project lifecycle aspects, from inception and requirements gathering to implementation, testing, training, and support.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Proven experience in Microsoft Power Platform development – Canvas & Model Driven Apps, Power Automate, Custom Copilot, and Power BI.
2. Ability to liaise with business stakeholders on app requirements.
3. Collaborate with the Global Power Platform team on platform technical requirements.
4. Ensure service delivery aligns with Information Security Policy Controls Standard and Operations Delivery Processes, utilizing ITIL, Agile, and DevOps practices.
5. Contribute to functional and solution design/specification documents.
6. Leverage Power Platform expertise to solve complex problems.

Role Experience

1. Experience with developing Model-driven and Canvas apps, understanding their differences.
2. Experience working with Microsoft Dataverse.
3. Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Visio.
4. Experience in Agile and Waterfall project delivery methodologies.
5. Ability to work with onshore and offshore functional teams.
6. Demonstrated approach to methodology and functional capabilities.
7. Excellent client-facing skills, including verbal communication, demonstrations, and training delivery.
8. Strong understanding of software development principles and best practices.
9. Experience in requirements gathering, solution design, prototyping, and unit testing.

Qualifications

1. Power Platform Certifications - PL100 / PL200 / PL400.
2. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
3. Professional experience in a consultancy environment.
4. Skills in Power Platform code syntax, API, and REST service integrations.
5. Optional experience with RPA tools like Power Automate Desktop, UiPath, Blue Prism.
6. Optional experience in Power BI development for dashboards and reports.
7. Optional experience in Power Pages Development and custom portal development.
8. Basic to intermediate experience integrating with Azure services via Power Automate, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Web APIs.
9. Knowledge of Power Platform COE and governance components.
10. Proficiency with project tools such as Azure DevOps.
11. Experience delivering solutions beyond Power Platform, e.g., Office 365, D365.
