We are looking for a knowledgeable Accounting Manager who can lead and motivate accounting staff members and increase department accuracy and efficiency. The Accounting Manager will design, manage, track, and evaluate day-to-day activities of the operations team. They will report directly to the executive team, with integrity and excellence. Understanding of the company mission, vision, and values, and how internal financials affect or are affected by these, is essential. The role also involves providing insights and participating in various finance projects, along with other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage the daily affairs of the group, providing leadership, guidance, and overall direction. Must understand and adhere to the company’s handbook for guidance and daily operations.
  2. Mentor and train staff and supervisors in client work processes, including AR processing, AP processing, bank reconciliation, financial closing, and reporting.
  3. Ensure 100% accuracy in AP setup, processing, and payments, in accordance with client policies; review and supervise.
  4. Ensure 100% accuracy of customer billing, processing, booking, and collections; review and supervise.
  5. Review bank reconciliations performed by staff to ensure accuracy.
  6. Provide coaching and career development opportunities for staff and supervisors.
  7. Perform reference, internal consistency, and grammar checks to ensure high-quality output aligned with firm values and standards.
  8. Maintain overall quality of deliverables, communication, and compliance, using global best practices as benchmarks.
  9. Provide real-time performance feedback and motivate staff, fostering an inspiring work environment.
  10. Manage the KPI reporting process, ensuring timely submission each month.
  11. Ensure accurate staff inputs in timesheets and metrics reporting.
  12. Draft action plans to address deviations from standards and norms.
  13. Discuss KPI results with staff before presenting to executive management.
  14. Document policy deviations for continuous improvement.
  15. Manage team capacity, role assignments, and scope of work.
  16. Lead onboarding of new clients and address marketing leads.
  17. Oversee billing and collections processes.
  18. Communicate directly with clients regarding project status, issues, and resolutions, adhering to best practices.
  19. Champion the use of technology and systems, ensuring protocols and best practices are followed and improved.
  20. Monitor staff compliance with company ethics and policies.
  21. Share best practices and provide insights to improve key tasks, services, and overall practice.
  22. Foster a company-centric culture through internal linkages and participation in company activities.
  23. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 years experience in finance or accounting, with 1-2 years in a managerial role.
  • CPA or equivalent qualification; MBA or CFA is a plus.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Dynamics.
  • Excellent communication skills, articulate and clear, with a positive attitude.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Strong understanding of materiality and urgency, with the ability to multitask and focus on high-quality deliverables.
  • Enjoys training, coaching, and motivating staff.
  • Strong ethical principles, trustworthy with confidential information.
  • Excellent critical thinking and leadership skills.
