PostDoc Researcher in the field of Power Electronics

The Power Systems Group announces an opening for a PostDoc Researcher position to work on the SCAPE project funded under the HORIZON EUROPE programme, as well as on similar technical research projects in the field of Power Electronics. The main tasks include designing advanced power converter topologies and control schemes, developing electro-thermal models for power converter digital twins, and conducting experimental activities involving power converters, including designing and implementing experimental setups within IREC’s lab facilities.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

• PhD in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Automatic Control, or similar, or a Master’s degree (or equivalent) with more than 4 years of research experience in Power Electronics.
• Experience in designing, modeling, and operating power electronic converters.
• Experience with control board design and programming.
• Experience in analog and digital electronic systems design, simulation, and testing.
• Hands-on experience with power electronics is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of multilevel power converter topologies and operation.
• Experience in communications and automation systems.
• Experience supervising, guiding, and training team members.
• Experience in preparing competitive project proposals.
• Experience publishing papers in technical journals and conferences.

Job Offer:

This is a R2 position for 14 months within the SCAPE European project. Salaries will be paid according to IREC’s salary policy, based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
