Job Title

Financial Reporting Senior Specialist

Summary

The Financial Reporting Senior Specialist will be responsible for tasks related to the new regulated business. These include daily accounting and reconciliation processes, reviewing safeguarded account reconciliations performed by the FinOps team, supporting payment execution, and ensuring accuracy and control. This role will contribute to the improvement and automation of new finance processes and systems at Outpayce. In this role the person will ensure that these processes function effectively once implemented and will serve as a liaison with other departments across Amadeus and Outpayce. Additionally, the role involves collaboration on internal and external reporting and planning activities.

In this role you will:

Reconciliation and Settlement

  • Oversee the reconciliation of safeguarded bank accounts and the settlement of transactions.
  • Review daily reconciliations performed by the FinOps team and escalate any issues as needed.
  • Follow up on unreconciled items by engaging with relevant teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Review and support the daily settlement of scheme transactions.
  • Contribute to the improvement and automation of reconciliation processes from the Outpayce platform to SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing), including defining requirements and participating in testing.

Payments

  • Support the accurate and timely execution of payments, ensuring alignment with operational and financial needs once customer funds are reconciled.
  • Coordinate the payment of scheme fees.
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations and follow up on any discrepancies.
  • Collaborate on the automation of payment processes from the Outpayce platform to SAP, including requirement gathering and testing.

New Regulated Accounting

  • Prepare daily accounting entries in SAP based on transaction data.
  • Perform daily accounting reconciliations and resolve any identified issues.
  • Contribute to the automation of accounting processes from the Outpayce platform to SAP, including requirement definition and testing.

Accounting and External Reporting

  • Review and confirm Outpayce’s monthly closing to ensure compliance with applicable Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Collaborate with the Finance Service Center to maintain accurate and consistent accounting flows.
  • Coordinate the preparation of annual financial statements in accordance with local regulations.
  • Support the statutory audit and any tax inspections by ensuring timely and accurate information sharing.

Planning and Internal Reporting

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statement reports for Outpayce management.
  • Contribute to the development of the financial budget and long-term plan based on business unit inputs.
  • Deliver regular and on-demand analytical reports for Outpayce and Amadeus management.

About the ideal candidate

  • A university degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in financial reporting, accounting, and reconciliation processes, ideally within a regulated or financial services environment.
  • Proficiency in SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing) or similar ERP systems, with a focus on automation and process improvement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work across departments and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local regulatory reporting requirements (e.g., Bank of Spain).
  • Translate complex technical challenges into clear business value propositions.
