Position: Test Facility Technician in Alguaire
About the role:
As a Test Facility Technician, you will prepare, execute, and maintain hot-fire test operations at Pangea’s in-house test facility. Working alongside propulsion engineers and the test team, you will ensure flawless test execution, clean data capture, and system safety. Your role is crucial in validating the performance of Pangea’s propulsion systems before deployment in space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test Preparation & Execution:
- Set up and configure test stands, fluid systems, instrumentation, and safety systems for rocket engine testing (from thrusters to full-scale engines).
- Support countdown and control room operations during hot-fire campaigns.
- Perform pre-test and post-test checkouts of propulsion systems and test infrastructure.
- Maintenance & Safety:
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and inspection of all test equipment.
- Ensure safety compliance and participate in safety reviews and briefings.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the test facility.
- Instrumentation & Data Systems:
- Assist in sensor installation and troubleshooting.
- Support DAQ system operation and data collection workflows.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Keep logs of activities, maintenance, and issues.
- Collaborate with engineers to resolve test data and system issues.
- Manage consumables and spare parts inventory.
Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical skills; experience with high-pressure systems, cryogenics, or fuel lines is a plus.
- Experience with standard tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, drills, grinders).
- Comfort working around hazardous systems and safety-critical environments.
- 2–5 years’ experience in aerospace or industrial systems testing, operations, or maintenance.
- Team player with attention to detail, proactive mindset, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic knowledge of instrumentation, control systems, and testing protocols.
- Bonus: welding, machining, electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Fluent in English; Spanish and/or Catalan proficiency; French is a plus.
