Project Director (Spain)

The Project Director is responsible for overseeing a program or portfolio of clinical studies, including large global multicenter trials with substantial budgets. The portfolio may include studies for specific clients or therapeutic areas, managed by Project Managers (PMs). The Project Director leads operational contributions to proposal development and business activities, applying their therapeutic and project management expertise.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee a portfolio of projects and the Project Managers managing these studies.
• Ensure studies meet therapeutic and client-specific requirements.
• Represent the company to clients, maintaining satisfaction and effective communication.
• Ensure studies comply with quality standards, SOPs, GCPs, regulatory requirements, and ICH guidelines.
• Manage contracts and financial aspects, including budgets and expenses.
• Track project progress and timelines.
• Maintain therapeutic and client-specific knowledge for the portfolio.
• Apply learning across studies/clients.
• Lead contingency planning and risk mitigation.
• Contribute to proposal development and pricing strategies.
• Drive operational performance, efficiencies, and innovation.
• May oversee line management and contribute to leadership within Project Management.

• First interview by phone (20 min), second via video (1 hour).
• The second interview includes a short presentation, prepared in advance, to demonstrate your skills and understanding.

IDEAL PROFILE

Education

• Bachelor’s in a relevant discipline; Master’s preferred.
• PMP or PRINCE2 certification is a plus.

Experience

• Minimum 15 years in the industry, with at least 5 years at a CRO.
• At least 10 years of clinical project management experience, including all project phases and vendor management, handling mid-size to large studies across multiple regions.
• Experience leading multinational phase III trials with budget management.
• Experience mentoring project managers and business development tasks.
• Dermatology experience is advantageous.

Knowledge and skills

• Strong knowledge of GCPs, Health Canada, FDA regulations, and guidelines.
