I am currently recruiting for a leading Syndicate seeking a Team Leader to join their Cyber Risks team on an initial 6-month FTC, with the possibility of extension.

This role involves overseeing a team of 8 within the Cyber Underwriting department based in Barcelona. The ideal candidate should have experience in a Team Lead or Supervisor role within insurance, with underwriting experience being a significant plus. Fluency in both Spanish and English is required.

You will manage a team of Underwriting Assistants, support the Cyber department, and be involved in underwriting support tasks.

Day Rate: up to €250 per day (inside IR35)

Office: Hybrid (2 days in the office, 3 days remote)

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assign tasks to your team of Underwriting Assistants (UAs) and Technical Underwriting Assistants (TUAs).
  2. Ensure SLAs are met and communicate resource issues to the Operations Manager.
  3. Review and update SLAs regularly based on business needs.
  4. Maintain the workflow tool, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
  5. Monitor team performance and address issues promptly.
  6. Lead regular team meetings to discuss capacity, training, and workflow.
  7. Participate in or chair meetings as required, acting as deputy when necessary.
  8. Evaluate responsibilities to determine in-house or outsourced tasks, collaborating on outsourcing plans.
  9. Develop and review personal development plans for team members, incorporating them into performance reviews.
  10. Identify training gaps and errors, and deliver tailored training to improve performance.
  11. Act as a subject matter expert for process updates and system changes.
  12. Maintain knowledge of all duties performed by UAs and TUAs.
  13. Provide management reports and information to senior leadership.
  14. Prepare and deliver performance reports and ad hoc materials for stakeholders.
  15. Deliver professional service to brokers and clients via various communication channels.
  16. Build and maintain relationships with brokers and clients, ensuring prompt and accurate responses.
