POSITION DESCRIPTION : The role of the Production Lead at Rose Acre Farms involves managing chicken houses, ensuring production, egg weight, and feed efficiency goals are met, monitoring health and safety, supervising staff, and working closely with management to meet operational objectives. The position requires maintaining animal welfare, adhering to safety protocols, and performing various management duties in a dynamic environment.

Essential Job Functions

• Manage chicken houses, including overseeing production, feed, water, and house staff.
• Collaborate with quartile managers and production managers to meet operational goals.
• Fill in for staff absences and monitor employee adherence to procedures and policies.
• Schedule and evaluate employees, ensure proper nutrition and equipment maintenance.
• Report issues beyond normal duties immediately to the quartile manager.
• Monitor temperatures, AEI counters, and complete necessary paperwork accurately.

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma preferred; experience in layer operations or agriculture highly desired.
• Ability to work with live animals and prioritize their health and safety.
• Decision-making skills, leadership, and excellent communication skills required.
• Basic electrical knowledge and ability to learn equipment maintenance.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays; respectful treatment of all employees.
• Adherence to safety, biosecurity, and company policies.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and stressful situations effectively.
• Work in various environments including indoor, outdoor, office, warehouse, and farm areas.
• Willingness to work beyond scheduled hours if necessary.
• Maintain professionalism in all interactions.
