For one of our key clients and world leaders in materials technology, Coalesce Management Consulting (CMC) is looking for a Project Engineer to assist our client in the realization / construction of a megaproject in Northern Spain.

Once the construction phase begins, full on-site presence will be required, expected towards the end of this year or early next year.

Please note that you will initially work as an independent consultant (autónomo) through CMC, with the intention to make the role permanent after or within a 2-year contract.

The Project Engineer will be responsible for coordinating the design and construction within their area of expertise, possessing the following qualities:

  • University degree or equivalent in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Instrumentation / Automation)
  • Technical experience in engineering project execution
  • Understanding of industrial project execution in operational environments
  • Knowledge of design software (e.g., AutoCAD)
  • Knowledge of EHS standards, industry practices, and legal requirements
  • Fluent in Spanish and English (written and verbal)
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • Ability to perform tasks according to set rules and procedures

The Project Engineer will work closely with the Program Director & Project Manager to:

  • Prepare, review, and approve technical documentation, ensuring standards, guidelines, and best practices are followed
  • Ensure project documents are complete and suitable for tender processes
  • Support procurement activities, from bid screening to reception confirmation
  • Control project costs during execution
  • Supervise construction, installation, and commissioning within their responsibility
  • Coordinate with other engineering teams to integrate work and meet deadlines
  • Execute tasks efficiently, safely, reliably, and cost-effectively
  • Make timely and quality decisions within their scope
  • Gather data to inform decision-makers on complex issues
  • Propose procedural, organizational, technological, and productivity improvements
  • Capture lessons learned for future projects
  • Participate in audits
  • Perform tasks safely and in compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations
