Rack Power Technician, Data Center Engineering and Operations

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers, including servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment, ensuring continuous access to our customers. We work on challenging problems with many variables impacting the supply chain and seek talented individuals to join us.

You will join a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. Collaborate across AWS to uphold safety and security standards while providing extensive capacity at low cost, fostering an inclusive culture that encourages bold ideas and ownership.

The Worldwide Sustainability (WWS) organization leverages Amazon’s scale to build a resilient, sustainable company, managing global social and environmental impacts and enabling sustainability solutions for customers and communities.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Assist in the installation and operation of racks and rack-based systems.
  2. Respond to daily installation demands, especially during peak periods, maintaining >99.999% uptime for mission-critical servers.
  3. Maintain and monitor Data Center rack systems, including incident management, problem resolution, and support.
  4. Monitor and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, HVAC, chiller systems, and generators.
  5. Assist contractors and engineers in equipment operation and deployment.
  6. Perform system walkthroughs to verify installation and update monitoring systems.

Desired competencies

  • Problem-solving skills with root cause analysis and contextual understanding.
  • Ability to maintain SLAs through proactive detection and response.
  • Follow procedures, document issues, and track them via ticketing systems.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate with support teams to resolve issues.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of electrical safety practices and experience with Microsoft Office.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Electrical or Mechanical fields.
  • EU driver’s license and access to a vehicle for site visits across Sweden.
  • Additional experience in data center engineering, capacity planning, and reporting is preferred.
