Java Architect – Digital Healthcare Platform

We are seeking a Java Architect to lead the design and development of a modular, secure, and scalable backend platform, powering next-generation digital healthcare applications. Your work will directly impact the lives of people managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, by enabling innovative tools that connect clinical care with daily health management.

As part of a visionary global Digital Healthcare Team, you’ll shape a cloud-first, API-driven backend architecture designed to support multiple therapeutic areas, EHR integrations, and user-centric health experiences — all while adhering to strict healthcare standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the architecture and development of backend services: consent, survey, in-app messaging, remote patient monitoring, etc.
2. Design secure RESTful APIs, authentication systems, and microservices with scalability in mind.
3. Ensure data security & privacy compliance: HIPAA, HITECH, FHIR, HL7.
4. Architect solutions on AWS, using SQL / NoSQL, containerization, CI / CD pipelines.
5. Collaborate with front-end, DevOps, and healthcare data teams for seamless integration.
6. Implement developer efficiency tools for auto-generation of code, test protocols, and technical specifications.
7. Troubleshoot complex backend issues and optimize for performance and scalability.

Requirements

1. 7+ years in Java backend development.
2. 4+ years in modular backend design using AWS cloud services.
3. Experience with FHIR, HL7, PHI data, and healthcare data integration.
4. Solid knowledge of OAuth2, JWT, containerized microservices (Docker / Kubernetes).
5. Proven experience working in fast-paced, globally distributed teams.
6. At least B2 level of English proficiency.
