As a Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for leading the technicians on the workshop floor, overseeing the effective management and performance of the Calgary maintenance operation, delivering outstanding service and ensuring compliance with Quality Standards, promoting safe working practices, improving daily operations, ensuring paperwork is completed to a high standard, and maintaining high-quality standards for our customers.

A snapshot of your responsibilities includes:

  1. Coaching and leading the team: taking responsibility for quality, efficiency, safety, and resources within your unit; coaching and motivating team members; fostering teamwork.
  2. Managing workshop operations: implementing TCR processes using SAP; managing resource and labor allocation; ensuring proper stock management; providing insights on planning feasibility; tracking work progress; assisting team members with data processing; creating and evaluating inspection lists.
  3. Supporting team members: instructing on maintenance and safety; facilitating professional development.
  4. Coordinating with stakeholders: liaising with customers, suppliers, and internal departments; providing operational information; advising on vehicle and equipment availability; contributing to quality measurement setups; proposing procedural improvements; investigating technical modifications to reduce costs.
  5. Workshop administration: managing work orders, invoicing, and time control in collaboration with relevant departments.
  6. Safety leadership: promoting safety culture and implementing initiatives to improve safety performance and OHS systems.

We are seeking an individual with:

  • Expertise in GSE maintenance and repair (mechanics, hydraulics, electrical systems, refrigeration units, etc.)
  • Ability to make complex decisions under pressure
  • Resilience and stress resistance
  • Commitment to quality improvement and safety education
  • Leadership skills including teamwork facilitation, communication, delegation, change management, and conflict resolution
  • Fluent English skills, both oral and written

The Pay Range for this Position is: $95,000 - $115,000 / annual (based on experience/qualifications).
