One of the largest European Travel companies with a strong international presence in four continents is seeking a Manager of Group Travel for Southern European, based in Madrid.

This Travel Groups Manager leads the strategic definition and development of key business lines within the segment of special group travel, including religious groups, students, and associations.

This role is focused on the planning, negotiation, and development of group-specific travel products by securing commercial agreements with hotels, theme parks, and activity providers.

The position is also responsible for coordinating the contracting, product development, and guide management teams, ensuring the accurate implementation and digital documentation of all supplier agreements.

Key Responsibilities :

Strategic Management and Product Development :

  • Define priority business lines for acquiring and managing group travel segments, focusing on high-profit sectors depending on region or market needs.
  • Hold regular meetings with key suppliers to negotiate and secure commercial agreements that strengthen the group travel offering.
  • Develop and update tailored travel products for group segments, in line with current market trends and operational goals.

Team Coordination :

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the contracting, product, and tourguides management teams to ensure proper execution of directives.
  • Conduct regular training and strategy alignment sessions with regional group coordinators to ensure unified direction and product understanding.

Process and Tool Management :

  • Oversee the correct documentation and uploading of all agreements and products to the SharePoint platform to support commercial teams.
  • Ensure all supplier and product information remains accurate, up to date, and accessible.

Requirements :

Academic Background :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Tourism, or a related field.
  • Additional training in negotiation, product development, or business strategy is a plus.

Languages :

  • Native-level Spanish.
  • Advanced English.
  • Additional languages are a plus.

Professional Experience :

  • 7+ years of experience in product management, business development, or supplier contracting within the travel or tourism industry.
  • Proven experience in negotiating with hotel chains, activity providers, and sector-related organizations.
  • Strong understanding of group travel operations and coordination of multidisciplinary teams.

Technical Knowledge :

  • Proficient in SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of contracting and travel management platforms.

Skills :

  • Strong leadership and coordination abilities across technical and operational teams.
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking with a clear focus on prioritization and profitability.
  • Planning and organizational capacity to lead meetings and training sessions.
  • Proactivity and flexibility to manage multiple projects and business lines simultaneously.
