Chemielaborant / -In Synthese / Lab Technician Synthesis

As a Lab Technician in the Organic Chemistry Lab, you will assist Chemists in drug discovery for small molecules, contributing to the development of new anticancer agents. You will collaborate closely with project team members to confirm the structures of synthesized compounds.

Responsibilities:

1. Self-plan and achieve objectives based on instructions from supervisors or Chemists.
2. Document synthesis procedures and analytical results daily in the ELN.
3. Record deviations from planned activities/results and suggest alternative solutions using synthesis databases.
4. Optimize reaction conditions and purification processes.
5. Analyze and identify reaction products using analytical tools such as HPLC, MS, and NMR.
6. Purify compounds via chromatography.
7. Review safety documentation to ensure understanding of operations and risks, maintaining laboratory safety.
8. Possess apprenticeship as a lab technician or equivalent qualification.
9. Have at least 3 years of professional experience in organic synthesis.
10. Experience with analytical methods (NMR, HPLC, LCMS) and interpreting results.
11. Ability to work in a results-driven environment, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines.
12. Good written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of German is a plus.
