As an Associate Director within the Legal department, you will lead one of the two Legal Operations teams, focusing on handling Authorities requests (including FINMA requests) and related tasks. You will support the Bank in managing contracts, claims databases, and other operational legal tasks. Reporting directly to a Deputy Head Legal - Vice-Director, you will supervise your team and manage personnel in accordance with senior management directives.

Key responsibilities

Team Management:

  • Leading and supporting:
    • Fostering a positive work environment where employees feel motivated, valued, and connected.
    • Promoting collaboration, trust, and cohesion within the team.
    • Supporting employee development through training, mentorship, coaching, and career opportunities.
  • Hiring:
    • Leading recruitment processes with your Talent Acquisition Partner.
    • Ensuring proper onboarding of new hires, including introduction to the team, organization, policies, and roles.
  • Performance Management:
    • Setting performance expectations, providing feedback, conducting reviews, and managing performance issues.
  • Conducting underperformance processes with senior management and HR support.

Operations management:

  • Organizing and monitoring team operations and capacity planning.
  • Reviewing and supervising complex cases.
  • Reporting: producing periodic statistics and reports.
  • Documentation and Procedures: maintaining proper documentation of main procedures.
  • Internal coordination: working with other Legal Operations Managers and improving workflows within and outside the department.
  • External liaison: acting as the contact point for Authorities and external legal service providers.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience handling Authorities and FINMA requests or in a Compliance role.
  • Previous leadership experience is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in French and English; good command of German.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-growing and evolving environment.
