Background

Since 2001, the MRI has served as a global research coordination network focused on mountain regions worldwide. Hosted at the CDE at the University of Bern, the MRI coordinates activities such as workshops, working groups, and stakeholder platforms to advance mountain research and knowledge sharing. Key Tasks and Responsibilities

1. Support the Executive Director in planning, coordinating, managing, and implementing MRI activities, including representation and related tasks.
2. Coordinate with the MRI Governing Body, Working Group leads, network members, external partners, and stakeholders to enhance the visibility of mountain research within scientific and policy platforms.
3. Plan and facilitate events such as workshops, webinars, seminars, and conferences, liaising with external experts and contractors as needed.
4. Contribute to publications and outputs from MRI activities with technical inputs.
5. Assist in horizon-scanning to identify strategic priorities for MRI development.
6. Maintain the MRI Experts Database and support reporting tasks, including data collection and analysis for monitoring and evaluation.
7. Collaborate with the MRI Communications Manager on content development for publications, newsletters, website, and social media.
8. Participate in team meetings and support administrative tasks, including co-supervision of assistants.
