Job Description:

These challenges await you

  • Investigate Technical Solutions: Research and develop technical solutions for programs or products, particularly focusing on optical systems and simulations.

  • Develop Front-End Beam Steering Concept: Conceptualize and develop beam steering concepts for optical systems, conducting analytical investigations, optimization, and tolerance calculations using simulation tools like Zemax or FRED.

  • Design Optical Components and Modules: Design optical components and modules based on project requirements and specifications.

  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with engineering teams, intellectual property (IP) team, production, quality assurance, and service departments to develop optimal solutions for lasers and optics.

  • Evaluate Requirement Specifications: Assess requirement specifications, ensuring they are feasible from an optical design perspective. Translate these specifications into functional requirements.

  • Establish Optical Unit Qualification Plan: Develop qualification plans and test procedures for optical units, ensuring they meet specified requirements.

  • Support Production Plant: Assist production plants by creating test benches, conducting root cause analysis, and finding solutions to problems that arise during production.

  • Participate in Prototype Development: Contribute to the development of prototypes and optical test benches for new products.

  • Create Technical Documentation: Prepare technical documentation and specification documents for product development, ensuring clarity and accuracy.

  • Communicate with International Customers: Engage in communication with international customers regarding technical aspects of products and projects.

You inspire us with that:

  • Masters degree in optical engineering, Electronics, Semi-Conductor engineering, Photonics, physics, or related field or equivalent years of experience; Ph.D. preferred.

  • 3+ years of experience designing optical systems (e.g., cameras, displays, depth sensors).

  • Experience with Industrial development processes desired.

  • Working knowledge of lens manufacturing methods (e.g., cast molding, injection molding, free-form surface generation, diamond turning, coating process, etc.) is desirable.

  • Knowledge in laser and detector physics is recommended.

  • Practical know-how with Zemax, FRED, Matlab, Python, LightTools, LabView.

  • Experience in Automotive process (ASPICE).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English, as well as solid teamwork skills.
