Job Description:

For our client, an international company based in Zurich, we are looking for a Civil Design Engineer.

We are seeking a Civil Design Engineer (Draftsperson) to strengthen our engineering team and support the design and implementation of high-performance components for high-voltage and high-current applications. In this role, you will be responsible for the entire civil engineering design process—from the conceptual phase through detailed 3D modeling and 2D drawings to the preparation of production-relevant documentation. You will ensure all work meets internal standards, applicable national regulations, and project goals in terms of cost, time, and quality.

General Information:

• Contract Duration: 9 months

Main Responsibilities:

• Responsible for civil design and associated deliverables (3D models, 2D drawings, technical documents) according to project specifications, work assignments, and instructions from the project team and local partners—while adhering to cost, time, and quality guidelines
• Ensure all drawings comply with internal minimum standards as well as applicable national and local codes and regulations
• Use CAD software and supporting tools to create reports, technical analyses, and design documentation
• Design high-voltage and high-current bushings in 3D for custom orders, considering both technical requirements and cost-optimization aspects
• Create, manage, and maintain 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings for procurement and in-house manufacturing parts, as well as production documents and assembly instructions using PDM systems and SAP
• Plan order execution including creation of work plans and specifications
• Develop and select technical design solutions in close collaboration with the project team
• Actively participate in meetings and contribute technical suggestions for continuous improvement of processes, 3D models, and detailed drawings

Skills and Qualifications:

• Completed apprenticeship as a Draftsperson (EFZ) or further technical education (e.g., HF degree in Mechanical Engineering) is a plus
• Initial professional experience in a similar role is an advantage. For recent graduates (completion by summer 2025): experience with Creo is mandatory
• Experience with high-performance applications is an additional asset
• Proficient in using CAD and PDM systems (preferably Creo)
• SAP experience is an advantage
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• Good German skills are required (minimum B2); English is not mandatory but a plus
