Role Purpose

The Network Infrastructure team for Switzerland is based in Zurich and Geneva. We are responsible for the operations of EXA’s telecommunication network in Switzerland. We manage 300 km of owned ducts and an additional 500 km of leased ducts and fibre. On the facility side, we operate 7 Inline Amplifier signal regeneration buildings (ILAs) and have points of presence (POPs) at 2 third-party data centers.

We deliver fibre optic and transmission (TX) services and support the auxiliary infrastructure, including ducts, fibre cables, transmission equipment, and ILAs for both EXA and end customers.

Our goal is to provide our customers with fast delivery times while maintaining a quality level that aligns with EXA’s mission to empower connections and foster growth.

Key Responsibilities

You may occasionally need to travel throughout Switzerland.

Your work will be divided approximately equally between administrative tasks and light technical work.

Your role involves supporting both the Fibre Optic network (ducts, cables, transmission systems) and the Facility infrastructure (colocation, power, cooling, patching).

  • You will act as our remote hands to assist with order fulfillment, such as customer turn-ups, upgrades, and project builds.
  • You will help identify and resolve problems like fibre breaks or signal degradation, which may require quick checks or patching.
  • You will assist in planning preventative maintenance and repairs, including raising tickets, coordinating with suppliers, organizing site access, and following up on reports.
  • You will communicate with third parties, suppliers, operators, and vendors for organizing work, obtaining quotes, raising purchase orders, processing invoices, and internal coordination.

Other Responsibilities

  • You may support pre-sales teams by summarizing quotes or preparing presentations.
  • You will assist with budgets and financial forecasts, reviewing operational costs and trends.
  • You will handle record keeping, asset and inventory management, and logistics.
  • You will contribute to reports, project updates, meeting minutes, capacity reports, and presentations.

Individual Profile

We seek someone who can quickly adapt, listen carefully, and connect the dots with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, a good telephone manner, and professional presentation.
  • Fluent in English and either German or French.
  • A team player capable of working independently.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and receptive to advice.
  • Proficient in written communication and comfortable making phone calls.
  • Open to admitting mistakes and seeking help.
  • Willing to perform administrative tasks, even if repetitive.
  • Creative and inventive in solving technical and business challenges.
  • Proactive in keeping the team informed.
  • Calm, respectful, and courteous under stress, with mature conflict resolution skills.
  • Comfortable working in a quiet environment as part of a small team.

Our Working Environment

We prioritize working where you do your best. Most employees will work in the office three days a week and remotely two days.

We value diversity and inclusion, welcoming applications from all backgrounds to foster a vibrant and inclusive culture.

Due to high application volume, we may not respond to all applicants. If you do not hear from us within three weeks, your application was unsuccessful.

All successful candidates will undergo background screening.
