At Bavarian Nordic Berna, the Swiss affiliate, we have manufacturing activities and professionals in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Supply Chain, and Regulatory Affairs. The Swiss site in Thörishaus / Bern employs approximately 160 dedicated professionals working locally and globally.

For the Finance Department, we are seeking a motivated professional to oversee controlling and planning of the company's affiliate costs in Bern, including OPEX, Cost of Goods Sold, and Capex.

We are looking to fill the position of:

Plant Controller 100% (f/m/d)

The main responsibilities include:

  1. Review actual production versus planned, perform month-end closing transactions in SAP for cost allocation and fixed assets capitalization/depreciation, identify and follow-up on variances, and issue reports with insights versus factory KPIs.
  2. Follow-up on changes and post journal entries for expired and obsolete materials, including comparison versus budget.
  3. Manage the scope of actual inventory reporting, including identifying and posting adjustments or provisions where needed.
  4. Analyze inventory lead times and verify against production plans.
  5. Support new launches by creating COGS in SAP and updating/following-up as per GMP processes.
  6. Review, report, and follow-up on monthly budgets and variances, prepare comments, and develop pro-con lists for the next budget cycle. Follow up on purchase orders and posted invoices.
  7. Review bill of materials/recipes as per GMP, track, and control updates in SAP, Veeva, and Excel models.

Qualifications and experience required:

  1. 3-5 years of finance experience with proven results.
  2. Strong overview skills without losing sight of relevant details.
  3. Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to produce well-reputed reports.
  4. Ability to handle high work volumes with quality within tight deadlines.
  5. Strong IT skills, including Excel, SAP Finance and Controlling, BI tools, etc.
  6. Interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset; ability to build, sustain, and influence relationships.
  7. Analytical, innovative, and results-driven, capable of handling complex issues.
  8. Proactive, adaptable, systematic, and structured in work behavior, with the ability to prioritize and focus.
